Sounds of India in the Park – featuring Sebastian Dreyer (sitar) and Shrirang Mirajkar (tabla)
Come and enjoy a unique morning of Indian classical music in the open air. On 26 July, we welcome the renowned Berlin-based sitar player Sebastian Dreyer, accompanied by Shrirang Mirajkar on the tabla, for an open-air concert in the park in front of the Villa Schönberg at the Museum Rietberg.
Dreyer, who began his career in his late 20s and today, as a pupil of Pandit Partha Chatterjee, masterfully interprets traditional raga music, will transport you into the soundscape of North Indian classical music. He is accompanied by Shrirang Mirajkar, whose finely tuned tabla playing complements the melodic lines of the sitar. Together they create a wonderfully harmonious soundscape – set against the green backdrop of Rieterpark.
Venue: In the park in front of Villa Schönberg (Museum Rietberg), Gablerstrasse 14, 8002 Zurich.
Duration: approx. 90 minutes, no interval
Refreshments: Our museum café in Villa Wesendonck is open from 10 am and offers delicious treats and refreshing drinks during and after the concert. You are welcome to take your purchases with you to the concert venue.
Please note: The concert will only take place in good weather. Information regarding whether the event will go ahead will be posted on the website by Friday at the latest.

Free of charge and no booking required. Chairs are available. You can also bring a blanket and listen to the music on the grounds of Villa Schönberg.

A car park for people with disabilities is located directly next to the Remise and Villa Wesendonck. Access is via Gablerstrasse and not via Rieterpark.
