Hybrid soundscapes blending tradition, modernity and cultures
The Flury and The Nuborns concert series is entering its fourth season.
The Nuborns are a music and research group. The origins and development of jazz and pop music are among their areas of research. Although the necessary technology has been available since the Edison phonograph of 1880, the early phase of popular music remains entirely undocumented and will forever remain a mystery. The Nuborns delve into this nebulous space of cultural fusion, of oral culture and written culture, seeking their own version of early pop music through composition, interplay and improvisation.
