Music from beyond the Röstigraben. That is La Fri[s]che’s mission. Une friche: that is a fallow field, an empty space. Such a space exists in Zurich when it comes to Francophone music. For now. Because we are changing that and bringing French-speaking Switzerland to Zurich.
The contemporary music scene in French-speaking Switzerland is vibrant, international and stylistically diverse – yet has so far been virtually absent from Zurich and German-speaking Switzerland. The Kulturmarkt and the concert promoter Pa-dam… Pa-dam… provide a platform for contemporary rap, RnB, pop and electronic music from French-speaking Switzerland, the so-called musique actuelle,.

Electro Groove Pop
Félicien Lia is a dynamic sound experimenter from the Jura region who effortlessly transcends genre boundaries. Combining the raw energy of the blues, the finesse of jazz and driving elements of groove and dub, he creates a hypnotic sound that blends manipulated pop, psychedelic rock and garage blues. Distinctive basslines and poetic lyrics that blend alpine expansiveness with urban pulsation make his music an intense live experience – multi-layered, subtle and captivating.
In addition to his own music, Lia also shapes the scene as curator of the Fête de la Musique in Geneva and as organiser of the young, trendy Spiegelberg Festival in the Franches-Montagnes.
