Stefan Rusconi & Tobias Preisig: Album Release «Palimpsest»
Exactly 10 years ago, Swiss musicians Tobias Preisig (violin) and Stefan Rusconi (church organ) released their album ‘LEVITATION’: an intense sonic journey into higher realms, which was also performed live as part of a fog installation by director Thom Luz.
They have now recorded their second album, ‘Palimpsest’, live in a church in Hamburg. The result is seven tracks: As a subtly pulsating dialogue between church organ, violin and electronics, they make the weightlessness implied in the project name ‘LEVITATION’ almost physically tangible. It is music with a transcendental dimension and a preliminary high point in an impressive body of artistic work.
As part of a collaboration between the Kulturmarkt and the jazz club Moods, the two musicians are releasing their new album *Palimpsest* in the church of the Zwinglihaus.
The Swiss violinist and film composer Tobias Preisig is part of the club duo Egopusher, has recorded various solo albums and has collaborated with The Cinematic Orchestra and Colin Stetson. Preisig lives in Zurich.
The Swiss pianist, organist and sound artist Stefan Rusconi has collaborated with artists such as Pipilotti Rist and Till Brönner, composed the soundtrack for the Keith Jarrett film “Köln 75” and created live compositions for the choreographer Meg Stuart. Rusconi lives in Berlin with his daughter and friends.
