Soundscapes that seem both familiar and yet utterly new
The Ilma Quartet has developed its own distinctive sound, characterised by soft tones and expressive melodies in both improvisation and composition. Ilma is the latest passion project of trumpeter and composer Christoph Kehl, who hails from the Säuliamt region. In his compositions, the multi-layered hues of postmodern jazz blend with an unusual instrumentation to form a unique sonic universe.
