An Atlas of the Infinite (2025–2026) World premiere – Nuño Fernández Ezquerra (1992)
An Atlas of the Infinite is a contemporary concert work that embarks on a symbolic and mystical journey to the limits of human perception, language and experience. Starting from questions of transcendence, disembodiment and the relationship between individuality and the absolute, the work explores the concepts of boundary and liminality from various perspectives.
Nuño Fernández Ezquerra’s composition creates a space for deep, active listening and invites the audience to turn their attention both inwards and outwards, drawing closer to the ineffable. The work is conceived as a paradoxical cartography of that which cannot be fully grasped.
The work will be presented in Basel and Zurich in September 2026. Duo Signal is expanding its line-up to a quintet with electronic elements. This unique instrumental constellation creates a new repertoire and marks a milestone in the ensemble’s artistic development.
