The name of the programme comes from an evocative concept - Wanderung. With this programme, SoundTrieb embarks on a journey through the often unnoticed sound universe of certain noises. As one of the most versatile sounds used to generate inputs in electronic music, white noise serves as the starting point for Helga Arias' noise-conducted emissions. Drunken larks is the result of an investigation into energy, line and pulse. Equally inspired by the fluttering song of larks, Basile Chassaing's new piece depicts the process of degradation of the various lark songs in an invasive and noisy environment. The degradation of these songs leads to an accelerated breeding season. In State of matter, Paul Clift draws heavily on field recordings of the sounds of ice sheets moving and breaking up over the water. These sounds are threatened with "extinction" due to climate change. To round off the programme as an exploration of frequencies, the piece nodes various by Catherine Lamb will also be performed.
