The Four Temperaments
Ronald Brautigam starts as Artist in Residence with a programme that focuses on musical characters. Inspired by Paul Hindemith's work "The Four Temperaments", the audience will experience an exciting encounter between different musical personalities. Hindemith paints powerful emotional portraits that have an immediate effect in their expressive energy and directness. Joseph Haydn's Piano Concerto in G major complements this concept with its elegant joy of playing and virtuoso lightness - a work that Ronald Brautigam interprets with historical information and modern clarity. The concert is complemented by Franz Schubert's charming "Five German Dances and Seven Trios" and Franz Schreker's lyrical "Intermezzo", which sets a special accent with its rarely heard tonal language. A programme that not only juxtaposes musical temperaments, but also vividly links different eras and styles.
