Archiv für Zeitgeschichte ETH Zürich

Follow organizer

The Archives of Contemporary History at ETH Zurich preserves written, audio and visual documents from private collections on the history of Switzerland from the 19th century to the present day and makes these historical sources accessible to the public. By preserving Swiss cultural heritage, it fulfils a national task and, as a so-called special archive, complements the state archives. The archive is part of the Institute of History at ETH Zurich. It mainly catalogues the estates of natural persons and the archives of private organisations in the three thematic areas of politics, economics and the history of the Jews in Switzerland. It thus promotes teaching and research on Swiss contemporary history in an international context.
