Founded in Zurich in 2007, ENSEMBLE TZARA performs the latest works and classics of the 20th and 21st centuries in a variety of formations and commissions numerous compositions.
The name is a tribute to Tristan Tzara, co-founder of Dada in Zurich, and at the same time the programme: ENSEMBLE TZARA questions traditional art forms, develops alternative concert formats and builds bridges to other art forms.
Another aim of the ensemble is to open young ears to contemporary music. The specially designed children's concerts arouse enthusiasm for current artistic creation.
The ENSEMBLE TZARA performs in Switzerland and abroad and was awarded the Werkjahr für Interpretation by the City of Zurich in 2012.
