NCCR Democracy

The NCCR Democracy is a national centre of competence of the Swiss National Science Foundation and the University of Zurich. It deals with the question of how globalisation, populism and the increasing political role of the media ("mediatisation") are changing democracy. To conclude its research, the NCCR Democracy is organising a series of public events at the University of Zurich in spring 2017 with internationally renowned personalities from academia, politics and the media. The aim is to initiate a broad public discussion on the challenges facing democracy as a result of globalisation, mediatisation and populism.
