Lecture series: #7 Weimar Cinema 2: The Metropolis and Society
The lecture ‘Film History 1: From the Cinema of Attractions to 1945’ at the Department of Film Studies (University of Zurich) will take place as a public event at the Filmpodium. From September to December, every Thursday afternoon, Daniel Wiegand and his guests will explore aspects of film history from the first half of the 20th century: from the early days in the late 19th century, through key milestones of the silent film era, to the transition to sound film and classic Hollywood cinema.
All lectures (90 minutes, free admission) will be delivered – unless otherwise stated – by Prof. Dr Daniel Wiegand and will be followed by film screenings (standard admission prices).
