ICONS. Selected works from the Kunsthaus collection – guided tour with the curators

The ideal way to start your visit to the exhibition

Maja Wismer (Head of Collections & Research at the Kunsthaus Zürich) will personally guide you through the exhibition ‘IKONEN. Selected Works from the Collection’.

The guided tour offers direct insights into the curatorial considerations and the development of the exhibition, as well as in-depth perspectives on selected works.

With the exhibition ‘ICONS. Selected Works from the Collection’, the Kunsthaus Zürich presents well-known masterpieces by artists from its own collection, as well as works that are less familiar to many visitors.

Paintings, sculptures and works on paper from different periods engage with one another in chronological and cross-period dialogues. The focus is on works that have a particularly significant influence on the Kunsthaus Zürich’s collection. These new juxtapositions open up surprising perspectives: familiar works can be rediscovered and take on additional meaning when viewed alongside other pieces.

The exhibition invites the Zurich public to experience familiar masterpieces with fresh eyes and to discover the diversity of the collection in a new light.
