Hammershøi – Sound and Space
In collaboration with the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK)
The exhibition ‘Vilhelm Hammershøi. Painter of Silent Sound’ will be transformed into a musical experience for one hour:
Five composition students from Till Löffler’s composition class at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) are creating five works specifically for the exhibition, which come together to form an overarching musical narrative. Electronically generated and pre-recorded sounds will interplay with live music, transforming the exhibition spaces into a multi-layered soundscape for the duration of the event.
Visitors are invited to move freely through the exhibition during the one-hour performance, choosing their own paths between the five rooms and continually redefining their proximity to and distance from the images and sounds.
Composition: Enea Frauendorf, Sonja Freisler, Harutjun Khatchatrian, Alexander Martinez, Zéno Zipper
The music is performed by students from the ZHdK.
Conductor: Till Löffler
