SLEEPING WITH A TIGER
Film programme for the exhibition at the Arthouse Piccadilly 1 cinema
A gifted child, an abandoned daughter, a determined woman, a solitary artist, an explorer of inner worlds, an acclaimed painter.
SLEEPING WITH A TIGER by Anja Salomonowitz is a poetic portrait of the Austrian painter Maria Lassnig (Birgit Minichmayr). A film about her search for her own personal artistic expression, her struggle within the male-dominated art world, and her physical struggle with her painting, through which she brings her inner pain to the canvas. And also a film about her great artistic success.
With an introduction by Sandra Gianfreda, curator of the exhibition
