Klaus Koenig Jazz Live Trio
Imaginative and with an inexhaustible enthusiasm for play
Klaus Koenig worked as a sound engineer at Radio Studio Zurich starting in the 1960s and founded the legendary Jazz Live Trio with Peter Frei and Peter Schmidlin. As part of this group, he accompanied soloists such as Johnny Griffin, Dexter Gordon, Clark Terry, Slide Hampton, and many others in over 100 live broadcasts. After a 15-year hiatus due to illness and a cautious return, the Jazz Live Trio celebrated its comeback in 2012 with new, young musicians.
Speaking of celebrations: This evening is dedicated entirely to Klaus Koenig’s 90th birthday. Moods extends its warmest congratulations!
To celebrate this birthday, Klaus Koenig will be performing twice: first with the Jazz Live Trio, and then with his quintet Seven Things.
The Jazz Live Trio’s latest CD "Autumn Girl" was released just in 2025, and their next album "Songs without Words" is coming out soon – and Klaus Koenig has no plans to stop anytime soon.
