Božo Vrećo is an artist who not only breathes sevdah but lives it, reinterprets it, and embodies it. With the unmistakable voice of a lyric tenor, he creates a striking blend of duality, freedom, courage, and love.
His voice has been described as one that “…touches souls and opens wounded hearts.” International media outlets such as El Periódico and The New York Times have hailed him as an avant-garde artist with global appeal and as a symbol of freedom in the Balkans. His concerts are an emotional catharsis and, at the same time, an embodiment of love.
His first documentary, “Maldita,” produced in Spain (directed by Kanaki Film), was honored with the prestigious Goya Award for Best Documentary at the festival.
