Chassol
Chassol is back! "Funny How?", the fifth album by Christophe Chassol, continues his series of "Ultrascores" while marking a shift toward a more contemporary sound and a more political perspective
Inspired by American stand-up comedy, the album blends soul, jazz, rap, and musical theatre, bringing together the voices of figures such as Dave Chappelle and Dulcé Sloan with those of emerging comedians.
In his signature compositional approach, the “Ultrascore” method, he harmonizes found sounds, speech and ambient environments into fully scored pieces. Drawing from archival material and footage shot in New York and Chicago, Chassol harmonizes reality itself, revealing its hidden notes and composing a choral, musical, and engaged narrative.
