IT'S ALL IN THE FAMILY
Seven-year-old Anni lives with her parents in a large block of flats. Because her parents don’t have much time, she sometimes feels lonely. Luckily, there are lots of other families living in the block, with loads of children. Whether it’s playing football or elastic, flying kites or playing hide-and-seek, there’s always something going on. At Grandma Menk’s, you can listen to the most wonderful fairy-tale records; Kerstin’s mum bakes the best pierogi; and Ina, the dachshund, loves to run off.
The house on Leninstrasse is full of the sound of children’s voices and neighbours’ chatter: take a peek through the keyholes and into all sorts of different families. Experience how lovely it is when a house smells of favourite meals and the doors are usually open.
Feeling like you belong: that’s what it’s all about – in life and in this play about a wide variety of family structures and living together in a community.
