A turbulent journey into the icy realm of decision-making, featuring menacing ice-cream cones, delightful chaos, quirky regulars and loooads of raspberry.
The queue is getting longer and longer, the ice-cream seller more and more impatient, and Mr Moritz increasingly nervous. Vanilla, chocolate or raspberry? Mango? Pistachio? Yoghurt and cinnamon? Waffle or tub? And perhaps some cream? Sauce? Brittle? Sprinkles? A spoon? A napkin?
‘Sonst Schoko’ takes you on an everyday adventure with little pomp or pretension in the portable ice-cream parlour. With keen observation, it tells a story about the impossibility of making a choice, about unintended rebellion and the courage to follow one’s own logic. This imaginative street-vendor-style theatre piece won first prize at the KUSS Children’s and Youth Theatre Festival in Marburg in 2024 and first prize at the SPIELSTARK Festival in Ottweiler in 2025.
