A magic carpet ride through history
Many children dream of travelling back in time. That is exactly what is possible in the new family exhibition “A Flying Carpet Journey Through History” at the Swiss National Museum in Zurich. Three rooms bring the themes of the Orient, seafaring and railways to life in a playful way: in an Arabian palace, on the deck of a large sailing ship and in an old railway carriage, young museum visitors can immerse themselves in historically significant eras.
The exhibition combines educational content with child-friendly activities. The evocatively designed setting provides the perfect backdrop for an imaginative experience at the museum, whilst the high-quality original artefacts serve as important historical witnesses to global cultural history.
For families with children aged 5 and over.
