Connecting Festive Moments
For the ninth time, the ILLUMINARIUM is opening its doors to the Landesmuseum’s inner courtyard, inviting visitors to enjoy Christmas delights, atmospheric moments, immersive experiences for young and old alike, and a festive atmosphere. Look forward to fondue get-togethers, winter cocktails, culinary highlights at the atmospherically lit indoor and outdoor bars, and new worlds that Yuki and her friends will discover.
This year, three spectacular light shows await you:
- YUKI’S ARCTIC CHRISTMAS: Join conductor Yuki and her terribly spectacular friends on an adventurous journey through sparkling ice, dancing lights and a spookily beautiful Christmas mystery. A festive audience favourite returns.
- YUKI’S PIXEL ZOO JUNGLE: Created in collaboration with Zurich Zoo, Yuki whisks you away into the fascinating animal world of the jungle. Meet gorillas, jaguars, sloths and dazzling macaws, and discover the secrets of biodiversity in a playful way.
- ART X ELECTRONICA, PAUL KLEE IN MOTION: Where painting meets the beat: Paul Klee’s works are brought to life through video mapping, animations, lasers and disco balls. An audiovisual experience that combines art and electronic music.
Food stalls and light installations throughout the site create a cosy winter atmosphere. In the modern fondue chalet, anything is possible, from a romantic dinner to a festive corporate event.
The indoor and outdoor bars are perfect for aperitifs and after-work drinks whatever the weather – and every day from 7 pm, the ILLU.Dance, national and international DJs take to the dance floor. And every Sunday, ILLU.Kids gets colourful, funky and glittery: DJs create a real disco atmosphere and a cross-generational music programme for the whole family. With popcorn, candyfloss, colourful syrups and a dance-filled visit from Yuki, the children’s eyes are sure to light up.
Entry to this part of the Festival of Lights is free.
