To turn their backs on a world shattered by war and climate collapse, a group of female friends flees into the realm of eternal ice. On the melting Rhone Glacier in Valais, suspended between a glistening mountain backdrop and looming disaster, between ecstasy and apocalypse, they celebrate the "last summer." These are the final moments of hedonistic freedom—yet their vision of happiness is doomed to fail.
With ETERNITY, director Susanne Regina Meures brings the radical art of Florentina Holzinger to the silver screen, posing the question: how do we deal with our guilt over a dying planet?
In December, the Schauspielhaus Zürich hosts the Swiss premiere of the film, followed by a Q&A with Susanne Regina Meures and Florentina Holzinger.
