Whose cosmos? Perspectives on existence, hope and the incomprehensible
Closing panel discussion on the 'SPACE' theme
Space confronts us with a fundamental question: how do we, as human beings, situate ourselves within a universe that is larger, older and more incomprehensible than anything we can grasp? The vastness of the cosmos invites us to reflect on our existence, our hopes and our mortality – and raises the question of what responsibility we bear for this immeasurable shared space.
Presenter Hannan Salamat talks to experts and artists about how our ideas of the cosmos are shaped by experiences, world views and power relations. The focus is on perspectives from the natural sciences, philosophy, art, theology and astrology, each of which offers very different perspectives and answers to existential questions.
Following the event, there will be a drinks reception in the Blue Foyer.
This event is part of the annual focus SPACE.
Note
This event will be interpreted into Swiss German sign language and spoken Swiss German.
