Land sufficiency: How much is enough?
Panel discussion featuring contributions from the fields of research, property development and architecture
How much land does a person need to live comfortably? What criteria do different stakeholders use to quantify land sufficiency? Which approaches promise spacious living despite a reduced ecological footprint? And what obstacles stand in the way of wider acceptance of such approaches?
This year, zawonet (Affordable Housing Network) is focusing on the topic of land sufficiency in housing construction. The project is investigating how living space can be used efficiently, designed collaboratively and built sustainably.
During the evening, the panellists will present short talks on the topic and then discuss them with the audience.
On the panel
- Ricarda Pätzold (German Institute for Urban Studies, research project on sufficiency and living space consumption)
- Claudio Meletta (Stereo Architektur, founding member of Countdown 2030)
- another expert
Moderator: Karin Salm (culture and architecture journalist)
