Polke stained-glass windows in the Grossmünster
The twelve-part work – up close
Sigmar Polke’s unique stained-glass windows in the Grossmünster take us on a journey through time. Seven windows made of agate carvings, featuring stone engravings, represent the early days of creation. Five figurative windows depict Old Testament figures who point towards Christ. Art historian Ulrich Gerster, who accompanied the creative process, explains this extraordinary work of contemporary art. The guided tour takes place as part of the international anniversary Athanor NOW of the Anna Polke Foundation.
