The Grand New Year’s Eve Gala – Christian Jott, Jenny & the State Orchestra

Following the huge success of TRITTLIGASSE, Christian Jott, Jenny and the State Orchestra are once again inviting you to their traditional and highly topical New Year’s Eve Gala. Jenny – two souls dwell, alas, within his breast – descends from his high Engadin horse into the county of Baden and, in a musical court narrative, reports directly from the rifts opening up across the land. His art is based on the realisation that the sublime lies a hair’s breadth away from the ridiculous and the embarrassing.

From birth to death – there’s always some authority in charge. And so: unlicensed life coaching through music and song. The village tenor picks out gems from the international song repertoire and muses on inner and outer abysses. Spiced up with this and that and garnished with anecdotes from a man who oscillates between worlds. Between St. Moritz, Zurich and Seldwyla, between the mayor and the tenor, between the parish assembly and a gala performance.

Christian Jott Jenny’s performances at the Kurtheater Baden are legendary and have long since become a tradition. They are as much a part of the end of the year as a bottle of sparkling champagne and offer far better entertainment than the ‘pop’ of a table cracker.
