Babel. The Living Tower
in an era largely characterised by social division, we can counteract this and continue to grow. What if the construction of a symbolic tower were a collective act – an opportunity to remember that community still exists and that it is still possible to build together with others?
In the face of fragmented languages and isolating walls, BABEL. TORRE VIVA that the body is still capable of expressing what is essential. If there is a chance for a common language in our world today, it is undoubtedly that of music and dance.
David Coria is a leading figure of the flamenco avant-garde. His choreographic compositions, the aesthetics of his creations and the socio-political engagement of his works make him one of the most interesting and fascinating Spanish choreographers working today. Seven dancers and a singer accompany him to bring this Tower of Babel to life.
David Coria is no stranger to Baden. His Compañía David Coria last performed at the Kurtheater in December 2021 with ¡FANDANGO! He also appeared in the summer of 2025 at the Klosterkirche Königsfelden as Don José in Filipe Portugal’s acclaimed choreography of ‘Carmen’.
