Molière’s comedy is not just about money, but above all about the love of young people. Love is the real dramatic driving force here! All the characters are driven by it: by desire that is too intense, inappropriate, secretive or thwarted. Connections form and dissolve less according to social conventions than through forces of attraction that transcend boundaries. Without explicit articulation, the production unfolds a stream of emotions, glances and bodies. The tensions are made visually apparent on stage: loving differently, loving on the side, loving despite walls…
<\n <\nMolière’s words, whose musical rhythm is preserved, rub up against the silences, the breaths, the gestures that express what the text does not articulate. The comedy remains lively, at times wild, yet a dull melancholy pervades it: it tells of lives that might have unfolded differently.
For all its humour, at its core the production is about a man who does not know how to love, and about young people who refuse to love according to the rules imposed upon them. It is a play about the eternal cycle of money, bodies and desires. Yet in the end, love always finds a way…

Access to the Kurtheater Baden is barrier-free through the main entrance on Parkstrasse. The theatre hall and the New Foyer can be reached barrier-free via the lift in the entrance foyer. The rehearsal room on the 5th floor is also accessible. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available in the front building and in the back building. Inductive hearing with your own hearing aid (mode "T") is available in the hall in the stalls, not in the balcony. Hearing aids can be borrowed free of charge from the cloakroom for a deposit.
