Sing Child Sing
Far From The Norm’s new solo is an intense dance exploration of a healing process and centres on the search for identity. It deals with the invisible legacies we pass on from one generation to the next.
The piece features company founder Botis Seva, who confronts his own autobiographical experiences in this work, demonstrating how isolation, frustration and faith become embedded in the body and how they emerge on the surface both as a source of strength and as fractures.
The audience is drawn into an intimate, evolving portrait of Botis’ inner reality, in which the past self confronts the present one. Through explosive physicality and unwavering emotional clarity, we witness the anatomical reconstruction of a man: a body that reconnects, grapples with intergenerational chains and reclaims its strength with resolute force. We see a dancer hovering between memories and possibilities, slowly breaking free from the inherited patterns that have shaped him. SING CHILD SING is a courageous act of transformation, an invitation to feel, reflect and rise up.
Far From The Norm were guests at the Kurtheater during the STEPS 2024 dance festival and thrilled the audience with their virtuoso piece BLKDOG.
