Melody
Former Member of the National Council Dr Stotz lives in a villa on the Zürichberg, surrounded by portraits of a young woman. Melody was once his fiancée, but she disappeared shortly before the wedding – over 40 years ago. To this day, Stotz has never got over it. He tells this story to the young Tom Elmer, who has been tasked with sorting out his estate. Gradually, Tom begins to wonder whether his boss is really who he claims to be. Together with Stotz’s grandniece Laura, he begins to investigate, leading them to distant places – and into a past where truth and fiction lie dangerously close to one another.
Martin Suter has granted the Rigiblick Theatre the rights to a stage adaptation of his novel. The play is enriched musically by songs by Stephan Eicher, for which Martin Suter wrote the lyrics.
○ “It’s about truth and lies, about appearance and reality … Daniel Rohr presents a compelling stage adaptation of the novel, featuring a cast of domestic staff who are at times hilariously funny, guaranteeing a highly entertaining evening at the theatre.” Seniorweb
