Crossover

CROSSOVER fosters dialogue between choreographic languages, generations and aesthetics through a collective creative process. For this unique programme, (LA)HORDE brings together three pairs of choreographers to stage a series of exciting artistic encounters. At the heart of CROSSOVER lies the interweaving of two existing works: fragments of iconic pieces, whose respective choreographers are invited to explore, through dialogue and discussion, the points of intersection where their aesthetics meet. This process creates a third dimension in which the works overlap without dissolving into one another.

  • Rafaela Sahyoun (CRUSH) × Fran Diaz (THE MASS ORNAMENT): Both CRUSH and THE MASS ORNAMENT explore how bodies relate to one another through friction, trust or coordination.
  • Armin Hokmi × Cecilia Bengolea: Armin Hokmi presents an excerpt from SHIRAZ, a hypnotic and gender-fluid homage to the Shiraz Arts Festival in Iran. In dialogue with this, Cecilia Bengolea presents an excerpt from TWERK, which she has reworked for CROSSOVER.
  • <\n
  • (LA)HORDE × Angelin Preljocaj: (LA)HORDE will combine one of their choreographic motifs with an excerpt from Angelin Preljocaj’s LE PARC. This collaboration brings together the artistic visions of two major institutions that coexist in the same region.

(LA)HORDE are making their debut at the Kurtheater. They most recently caused a stir with their collaboration with the Ruhrtriennale, where they provided the choreography for a production featuring Sandra Hüller. (LA)HORDE are currently responsible for the breathtaking choreography of the live show by Spanish global superstar Rosalía.
