Kei Kunst - Helenka

With her new show ‘Kei Kunst’, singer and comedian Helenka is determined to finally become a renowned artist. During her artistic metamorphosis, she meets the enthusiastic amateur artist Doris and Mrs Romantickova, a curator with a penchant for high-sounding phrases and dubious practices. On her way to the Olympus of high culture, the big question inevitably arises: When is it art – and when is it art therapy?

Helenka sings, performs, fails – and in doing so creates a total work of art comprising humour, light-hearted songs and a grab-bag of vocal collages. Through transformations and a growing artistic urgency, an evening emerges that oscillates between megalomania, glitter glue and the quiet hope that, in the end, someone will say: This is art!
She is accompanied by Simon Althaus on 88 keys (52 white, 36 black) and Pascal Lüthi on percussion with two sticks and poise.

In short: a humorous evening’s entertainment somewhere between megalomania, music and true art.
