Chali 2Na (from Jurassic 5 & Live Band)

The American rapper brings over 25 years of stage experience to the table – and one of the most distinctive and popular voices in hip-hop. As a founding member of the legendary group Jurassic 5 and the salsa-funk band Ozomatli, he has collaborated with countless artists, whilst also discovering a passion for acting and painting, thereby establishing himself as a truly exceptional figure.

His famous ‘Fish Market’ mixtapes provide a striking record of all the artists he has worked with: Blackalicious, Roots Manuva, Mos Def, Linkin Park, Beenie Man, Rusko, Tippa Irie, Rizzle Kicks, K’naan, Fatlip – the list reads like a ‘Who’s Who’ of the international music scene. This willingness to break down genre barriers and give every sound its own distinctive touch is typical of his laid-back, positive nature.

With his upcoming EP “ILLectric”, Chali 2na is now teaming up with The Funk Hunters. For several generations of hip-hop fans, he has long been more than just an artist: he is an integral part of their musical identity.
