CHINA is a long-established rock institution that has remained true to itself over the decades.
Founded in 1985 by Dommen, Matteo and ‘Laurence’ Scherer, CHINA rapidly became the epitome of Swiss hard rock in the late 1980s. With long hair, loud guitar solos and powerful drums, they sparked a wave of euphoria that spread far beyond the country’s borders. Despite turbulent line-up changes on vocals, the band always stayed on course and cemented their status with international chart successes. Anthems such as “In The Middle Of The Night”, “Sign In The Sk” and “Wild Jealousy” remain indispensable to classic rock fans’ playlists to this day.
This year, the band is once again playing two exclusive shows, including at the Scala Wetzikon, and is bringing a key figure from their history back on stage especially for the occasion. Patrick Mason, whose voice graced the hit album “Sign in the Sky”, will take the microphone for a few songs at these dates and provide the necessary touch of nostalgia with his distinctive timbre.
