This guided tour offers an insight into a section of the Medical Collection: anatomical models spanning two centuries. Using selected objects, the tour explains the materials, manufacturing processes and educational functions, and how these have changed over time. The tour demonstrates how scientific discoveries, knowledge of materials and modelling practices have influenced one another over time.
As part of the programme accompanying the exhibition ‘Models – Shaping Knowledge’ at extract, this tour takes visitors to a place where scientific models are still used in research and teaching today.
