The Open Screen offers up-and-coming amateur filmmakers a platform that goes beyond a video night with friends. Whether experimental or animated films, splatter films or uncategorisable home movies: the Open Screen showcases productions characterised by a love of filmmaking, simplicity of means and the absence of commercial constraints.
And all film enthusiasts are warmly invited to sit back and enjoy, be amazed, be entertained – and to cast their vote with a round of applause.
Films can be dropped off from 6.00 pm. Accepted formats include digital files, DVDs and Blu-rays – but no downloads or streaming. The only condition is that the filmmakers must be present in person for the screening of their submitted films.
