Föllakzoid is the project of Chilean musician, artist and director Domingæ. Since its formation in Santiago de Chile in 2007, the sound has steadily evolved: from psychedelic rock and Krautrock towards an increasingly electronic, technoid form of psychedelia.
At its core lies repetition. Bass, drums, synths and guitars lock in, shift slowly and drive the tracks forward. Less songs than states of mind. Less solos than a pull.
Domingæ’s queer and trans identity is also part of Föllakzoid – not as a contrived statement, but as an integral part of the music and her live performances. She cares about genre boundaries about as much as she does about fixed expectations of what a rock show should look like.
Dark, repetitive, loud. And almost certainly closer to the dance floor than to a rock concert.
