CO-LAB Cassette Recorder: Sound Aesthetics and DAW Integration
This workshop is aimed at anyone interested in discovering the distinctive sound of analogue cassette recordings and learning how to use it creatively. Together, we will explore the characteristic properties of the cassette medium and learn how these can be utilised for sound design in music production.
Alongside an introduction to how multitrack cassette recorders work, practical examples of their use will be presented. To round off the session, a demonstration will show how analogue cassette recorders can be synchronised with modern DAWs such as Ableton Live and integrated into hybrid production workflows.
No prior knowledge is required, and you’re welcome to bring your own gear.
