Zurich Lecture: Dimitré Dinev
What needs to be said.
The Literaturhaus Zürich sees itself as a place for exchange, intellectual engagement and open debate. Once a year, we invite an author to deliver a specially written speech designed to stimulate contemporary debate – moving beyond slogans and staying close to reality. In his work, the writer Dimitré Dinev demonstrates how precise storytelling lays bare social fault lines, power relations and migration. In his ‘Zurich Speech’, he will turn his attention to those stories that are otherwise easily overlooked – and once again make it clear how deeply literature can ‘plunge into the abysses of history and what it has to offer in the face of violence and despair’ (Stuttgarter Zeitung).
Featuring a book stall from the bookshop on Hottingerplatz.
