Long Night of Debuts: Renata Burckhardt, Micha Friemel, Sonja Sophie Kreis, Janica Irina Madjar, Julia Trachsel
Every spring and autumn, the Literaturhaus Zürich – for the past two years in collaboration with the Literarischer Club Zürich – hosts ‘Debut Night’.
This December, there are once again five new voices to discover, alongside a wide range of themes and characters: What the South Korean military is up to in Switzerland, how eating rice can save a relationship, the vast ice fields of Ilulissat, a return to one’s home village, and a graphic novel about holding on, letting go and remembering.
We look forward to welcoming: Renata Burckhardt, *Verrat an Hyun* (Atlantis 2026), Micha Friemel, *Ausser mir* (Dörlemann 2026), Sonja Sophie Kreis, *Das grosse Eis* (Rowohlt 2026) – nominated for the Swiss Book Prize, Janica Irina Madjar, *Den Berg auf der Zunge* (Limmat Verlag 2026) and Julia Trachsel, *Alles in allem* (Edition Moderne 2026).
