Alain Claude Sulzer – A Change of Scene
In his new novel *Szenenwechsel* (Galiani 2026), Alain Claude Sulzer takes his readers right into the world of the theatre, a space full of dreams, passion and vanity.
The great director Simon Muthesius has died, and an entire theatre company is thrown into turmoil. Everyone involved – the dramaturg, the diva, the make-up artist, family members – has their own story to tell about the deceased. And some still have a score to settle. With his characteristic elegance, Sulzer creates a polyphonic portrait of society and shows what remains of a life once the fame has faded.
