People, Nature, Machines with Kinga Tóth
In conversation with Etumu Schoster and the audience, the author talks about multilingual writing and storytelling centred on nature and machines.
Kinga Tóth works across boundaries and in the spaces in between: she writes in German, Hungarian and English, presents her texts in installations and performances, and is a co-founder of an organisation promoting gender equality for women in the literary world in Hungary. Her intermedia practice weaves together questions of humanity with the ‘more-than-human’ – care work, cyborgs and illness are just as much a focus for Kinga Tóth as feminist traditions, which she reconstructs from archival materials in her most recently published book, *MARIAMACHINA*. This year, she was awarded the Kelag Prize for her text *OstblockMädl* as part of the Days of German-Language Literature.
