Support act: Flurin Brodmann – Das Portemonnaie
As part of the ‘Vorband’ series, we will be introducing young writers from Switzerland on 11 evenings during the 2026/27 season, each time ahead of a regular reading.
In June 2026, they took part in the second masterclass for young writers aged between 18 and 28 living in Switzerland, led by Verena Rossbacher, under the theme ‘Plot, Twist and Timing: How do I sharpen the dramatic structure of a text?”.
Flurin Brodmann (he/him) was born in 2001 in the provincial canton of Baselland. The setting was ordinary; celestial bodies shone above, whilst below a gentle breeze blew across the wheat fields – a breeze some describe as the village spirit. His writing springs from this wind and is imbued with it. He is studying Slavic and German Philology at the University of Basel, so he enjoys spending his time reading outdated classics or absorbing Russian and Polish vocabulary.
Further supporting act dates:
4 November Smilla Diener – Die Welt im Berg
23 November Susanna Bosch – Das Portemonnaie
This project is made possible by the generous support of Zürcher Kantonalbank.
