The Zurich Poetry Lectures will celebrate an anniversary in 2026: For exactly thirty years, at the invitation of the German Department and the Literaturhaus Zürich, renowned authors – including W.G. Sebald, Herta Müller, Christoph Ransmayer and Marion Poschmann – have been speaking about their writing on three evenings every autumn. To mark the anniversary, none other than Blixa Bargeld, frontman of ‘Einstürzende Neubauten’, will take over the poetry lectureship. This coming November, the Berlin-based poet and spoken-word performer will offer an insight into his creative process – and, not least, highlight the relationship between sound, voice and poetry. In collaboration with the German Department at the University of Zurich and with the kind support of the Society for German Language and Literature.
