Julia Steiner – Guilty
When in doubt, give the accused the benefit of the doubt! But what if the accused herself consistently testifies against herself? In her second solo show, comedy rising star Julia Steiner recounts the life of a young woman who has learnt to look for the fault within herself first. Amidst self-checkout theft, parking fines, guilty pleasures and personal missteps, the search for the culprit turns into a journey towards a much bigger question: how much responsibility do we actually bear for our own lives, and how much guilt do we take on that perhaps doesn’t even belong to us? With self-deprecating humour, unflinching honesty and ever-present charm, she not only puts herself on the spot but also examines the human urge to find someone to blame for every problem, whilst at the same time facing the only authority empowered to judge whether she is guilty or not: the audience. An evening for anyone who has ever done something wrong. In short: for everyone.
