34th Winterthur Dance Festival
This year, the dance festival is dedicated to rhythm as a unifying and stirring force. From anarchic carnival to an exploration of loneliness, this year’s programme centres on works that use sound as a unifying element. In works such as ‘the body symphonic’ by Charlie Khalil Prince, the body becomes an instrument of resistance, whilst Tumbleweed’s ‘Threshold’ transforms the space into a resonating body. Yasmine Hugonnet’s work ‘Our Times’ explores the silence between two beats. CocoonDance’s award-winning piece ‘MOMENTUM’ combines live beats with the sport of parkour. The audience is invited to feel the vibrations on their skin and let themselves be carried away by the music. Listening, feeling and moving together – this edition shows how rhythm brings people together.
