YES/NO
The dance production ‘YES/NO’ is an exploration of the theme of ‘consent’ (agreement, mutual consent) in three acts. The production begins as a rousing celebration of tireless positivity: enthusiastic, sustained and virtuosic. Next, the dancers practise saying ‘no’ – something we all find difficult time and again. Things then become more complex as the dancers negotiate boundaries – both amongst themselves and with the audience. The choreography is at once precise and playful, high-energy and thoughtfully interactive. The seating is arranged in a ring around the stage, creating an excitingly intimate experience of the live performance. The dancers interact directly with the audience, who gradually become characters in the very performance they are watching. No two performances are exactly alike.
