John McCusker Trio
Scottish fiddle virtuoso John McCusker toured the world for many years with Mark Knopfler, Bob Dylan, Paul Weller and other stars. He was also a long-standing member of the legendary Battlefield Band and has featured on numerous albums, including those by Patti Smith, Steve Earle and Rosanne Cash. McCusker is accompanied by two brilliant multi-instrumentalists, Toby Shaer and Sam Kelly.
The trio invites you to an intimate evening of beautifully composed music, stories and musical conversations. The musicians combine first-class skill with warmth, humour and spontaneity, moving effortlessly between songs with rousing melodies and energetic jigs and reels. Rooted in tradition yet constantly evolving – this is folk music in its most honest, expressive and captivating form.
Before and after the concerts: Open Irish Session.
