Joachim Kühn Solo – Anna Webber’s Simple Trio
The ‘Unerhört!’ Festival is returning to the Theater am Gleis to present a special double-bill: Joachim Kühn will open the evening with a solo piano performance. For decades, he has been one of the defining figures of European jazz. His playing combines an irrepressible thirst for freedom with a soulful, unmistakable piano sound. As he plays, composition and improvisation merge – a shining moment in the art of solo piano.
Afterwards, Anna Webber’s Simple Trio, featuring Matt Mitchell and John Hollenbeck, will bring avant-garde jazz, new music and groove to the stage. Complex, tempestuous and full of surprises, the music has been brimming with energy and a spirit of adventure ever since the trio was formed. An energetic finale to this year’s festival!
